America’s egg farmers have an unwavering commitment to producing safe, wholesome, and high-quality eggs and egg products for our customers. This starts with caring for our flocks and keeping them healthy.
With the recent uptick news about highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), or bird flu, we understand that concerns about egg supply and prices may arise. We want to assure you America’s egg farmers work tirelessly to protect their hens and ensure the safety of their eggs and egg products. U.S. egg farms have the most stringent and comprehensive biosecurity of any poultry farms on the planet.
While HPAI has impacted some farms, reducing the number of hens producing eggs, consumer demand continues to rise — up for the 20th consecutive four-week period year over year, according to Nielsen. These factors combined are influencing wholesale and retail egg prices.
