IGA Exclusive Brands Introduces 3 New Bread Crumbs Flavors

IGA Exclusive Brands is thrilled to announce the latest additions to its product line: three new flavors of bread crumbs by Colonna Brothers.

These flavor enhancers are under 120 calories per ¼ cup, allowing for healthy and versatile cooking styles. The breadcrumbs are available in three varieties with 0 grams of saturated fat.

• Panko Plain – 8 oz. containers
• Panko Italian style – 8 oz. containers
• Hot & Spicy – 15 oz. containers

Entice shoppers with tasty recipes like spicy fried shrimp, chicken parmesan, or panko-topped homemade mac and cheese! These new additions will expand the breads crumbs flavor choices for retailers. Exclusive Brands currently offers roasted garlic bread crumbs (15 oz.); Italian (15 oz.), and traditional (15 oz.).

Hot & Spicy Shrimp Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 quart vegetable oil for frying
4 cups of shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 egg, beaten
2 cups of IGA Hot & Spicy Bread Crumbs

Directions:

1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 365° F.
2. In a bowl, whisk the egg.
3. In a separate bowl, add the IGA Hot & Spicy Bread Crumbs.
4. Dip each shrimp in the egg and then cover with bread crumbs. The coating should stick to the shrimp.
5. Carefully drop the shrimp into the heated oil in small batches and deep fry until golden brown.
6. Allow the shrimp to drain and dry on a paper towel.
7. Season with salt and serve.
