Sandwich Showdown Photo Contest

Beginning on August 1st and running through the end of the month, IGA is highlighting culinary creativity to celebrate National Sandwich Month.

“We’re excited to be bringing the Sandwich Showdown Photo Contest to our IGA members,” said IGA VP Brand Development Michael La Kier. “It’s an omnichannel campaign that has cohesive branding both online and in stores to drive sandwich sales and highlight talented shoppers.”

Joined by Coca-Cola, Gold Peak, and Ziploc, IGA will launch this fun contest to shoppers, creating an engaging sales opportunity for retailers.

The Sweepstakes

Americans eat about 300 million sandwiches per day, making them one of the most popular menu items in the country. This sweepstakes capitalizes on the demand for sandwiches to grow deli sales with IGA and its Red Oval Partners.

Especially during back-to-school shopping, sandwiches are popular for saving time and money. This summer, IGA and Sandwich America will inspire sandwich lovers everywhere with new recipes, content, and a social media campaign asking shoppers to share their favorite sandwiches. This contest can help stores increase deli sales by unleashing shopper creativity and encouraging consumer innovation.

Red Oval Partners Coca-Cola, Gold Peak, and Ziploc feature products that are complementary to sandwiches, enabling retailers to drive impulse purchases with well-placed displays and discounts in the National Digital Ad.

Entry Requirements:

Shoppers can take a photo of their greatest sandwich creation and then share it with IGA via this link to win a prize.

Winners:

Contest winners will take home cash prizes, and retailers will also benefit. With increased sales in the deli in addition to more social media engagement, retailers can expect more interest and foot traffic.

In store: Retailers who subscribe to the Quarterly Marketing Kit have received an aisle blade in their Q3 kit. Other retailers can download and print the aisle blade or order directly from DG Graphics.

National Digital Ad: The National Digital Ad will promote the contest with fun images and graphics. Plus, discounts from Red Oval Partners will encourage shoppers to buy sandwich complementaries.

Retailers can use these graphics on their social media channels to promote awareness for the contest and to increase visits to the deli. IGA will also be creating and posting promotional materials, which stores can like and share.

Digital: A Shopper Solutions blog will be released in the coming weeks with strategies to create the perfect sandwich. This blog will direct shoppers to their nearest IGA store to pick up ingredients for their ideal sandwich. Plus, IGA will publish creative sandwich recipes sponsored by Red Oval Partners throughout the month.
