The opportunity created for meal solution products in the last year due to the pandemic has had a huge impact on retailers and CPG manufacturers. As consumers sheltered at home, they stocked up on food and other essentials and shopped online more, which led CPG manufacturers to work with retailers to win the trip, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers.
"We're seeing customers reach into their pantry or their freezer or fridge to create meals as opposed to grabbing their phone and calling it in to a restaurant, which has created a great opportunity for all of us," says Idahoan Vice President of Retail Sales Glen Walter.
